On 17 May 2018 the Board of Directors of ICANN approved the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/gtld-registration-data-specs-en
The Board took this action to establish temporary requirements for how ICANN and its contracted parties will continue to comply with existing ICANN contractual requirements and with community-developed policies as they relate to WHOIS, while also complying with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
ICANN's contracted parties would be required to apply the model outlined in the Temporary Specification when processing personal data linked to the European Economic Area (EEA). The Appendix D of the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data contains supplemental requirements for the 17 October 2013 URS High Level Technical Requirements for Registries and Registrars and URS Rules effective 28 June 2013. Starting from 25 May 2018, the effective date of the GDPR and the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data May 2018, MFSD as ICANN-approved URS Domain Dispute Resolution Service Provider will: - accept URS Complaints even if Complainant does not provide the contact details of the Respondent, because they are not available in registration data publicly available in the WHOIS or not otherwise known to Complainant - have legitimate right and interest to obtain and process Respondent's registration data from the Registry/Registrar in order to handle the URS dispute and the Registry/Registrar shall not deny providing such data to MFSD.

MFSD will attend ICANN58 Community Forum to be held in Copenhagen on 11-16 March 2017 and will actively participate at the meeting of the Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) Policy Development Process (PDP) Working Group.
The Working Group is currently reviewing the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH), a global repository of verified trademark records submitted by trademark holders. At its session in Copenhagen, the Working Group will engage the community in an open dialogue on the status of the PDP, its findings concerning the TMCH’s operations and use, and its proposed next steps on this project as well as its upcoming review of the RPMs offered through the TMCH, i.e. Sunrise registrations and the Trademark Claims notification service. All are welcome to attend.
